Untypical applications of plastic bottles
There has been a lot of said and published on the subject of plastic recycling. Almost everyone knows how important for the environment it is. Unfortunately, there are still people who are not willing to sort rubbish and do not care about the environment at all. However, there is another solution. If they do not want to sort plastic (which is turned into new products in the process of recycling), they can “reprocess” plastic packaging on their own.
For those who do not know how to do it, there are several, untypical usages of old plastic bottles presented:
- A flower pot. If you have a lot of flowers at home and you want to save some money on buying flower pots, you can cut a bottle into two pieces and use the standing one as a place for your flower. If you are not satisfied with the bottle’s look, it can be decorated by covering it with a colourful paper.
- A piece of advice for farmers: if your crops, flowers are destroyed by aphids, place a stick (about 50 cm) in the ground and place a plastic bottle on it, the pests will be deterred because of the noise that bottles make when the wind blows.
- When you have a lot of pens and pencils in your office, you can make holes in the standing part of the bottles after cutting it into two pieces and put your pens there. It is an original, cheap and environmentally friendly solution.
- For animal lovers the potential use of plastic bottle is creating a bird feeder which can be hanged on a tree. The standing half of the cut bottle has to be filled with grain or pork fat.
- If you want to take some tea or coffee with you for a trip or to work, clean an empty ketchup bottle and then fill it with, e.g. coffee.
- Do you like knitting? Cut the bottle into two pieces and put the ball of wool into it to prevent it from tangling
We should remember that the environment is universal good. We live in the environment, what is more, we are part of the environment and our health to great extent depends on the environmental conditions. Doing the above-mentioned things you can protect the environment, spend your time in an interesting way and even feel like unforgettable MacGyver.
